ACCOUNTANCY SYLLABUS FOR CUET 2022


Before the term commences, it is suggested for the learners to read out the whole syllabus and course elements, so that they can retain an understanding of what they will work on at an initial phase. The syllabus extends courage from the beginning. Learners educating for Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUET) 2022 must understand the exam syllabus. ACCOUNTANCY SYLLABUS 

 Here we have provided the unit-wise syllabus of Accountancy. 

1. Accounting for Partnership Firms and Companies 

Unit 1: Accounting for Partnership Firms 

•Partnership: features, Partnership Deed. 

•Provisions of the Indian Partnership Act 1932 in the shortage of partnership deed. 

•Fixed v/s fluctuating capital accounts. 

•Creation of Profit and Loss Appropriation account- a division of profit among partners, a contract of profits. 

•prior adjustments (associating to interest on capital, dividend on drawing, salary, and profit-sharing ratio). 

•Goodwill: nature, components affecting and methods of valuation – average profit, super profit, and capitalization. 

•Accounting for Partnership firms – 

•Reconstitution and Dissolution. 

•Adjustment in the Profit Sharing Ratio between the occurring partners – sacrificing ratio, gaining ratio, 

•prepration of accounts for revaluation of assets and reassessment of liabilities and method of supplies and accumulated profits. 

•Preparation of revaluation account and balance sheet. 

•Entry of a partner – effect of entry of a partner on modification in the profit-sharing ratio,

•treatment of goodwill (as per AS 26), 

•reassessment of liabilities and modification of assets 

•treatment of reserves and accumulated profits, 

•preparation of balance sheet and correction of capital accounts 

•Death and retirement of a partner: a partner on alteration in profit sharing ratio,

•treatment of goodwill (as per AS 26), 

•modification for evaluation of assets and reassessment of liabilities,

Unit 2: Accounting for Companies 

•Accounting for share capital: nature and types. 

•Accounting for share capital: issue and distribution of equity shares, 

•private placement of shares, 

•Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP). 

•subscription done by public of shares – over subscription and under subscription . 

•issue at par and a premium, 

•call in advance and arrears (excluding interest), 

•allotment of shares for appreciation other than cash. 

•Accounting procedure of forfeiture and re-issue of shares.

•Accounting of Debenture Issue of debenture at premium, at a par, and at a discount.

•Redemption for debenture: the draw of lots, Lump sum and purchase in the open market 

• Formulation of Debenture Redemption Reserve. 

•Financial Statement Analysis 

Unit 3: Analysis of Financial Statements 

•Financial declarations of a company: Article of Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet in the detailed form with major titles and subheadings. 

•Financial Statement Analysis: Objectives, importance, and limitations. 

•Mechanism for Financial Statement Analysis: Comparative articles, common-size statements, cash flow analysis, ratio analysis. 

•Accounting Ratios: Objectives, category, and computation. 

•Liquidity Ratios: Current ratio and Quick ratio. 

•Solvency Ratios: Total Asset to Debt Ratio,,Debt to Equity Ratio ,Proprietary Ratio and Interest Coverage Ratio. 

•Activity Ratios: Trade Receivables Turnover Ratio, Inventory Turnover Ratio,Trade Payables Turnover ratio 

•Profitability Ratios:, Operating Ratio, Gross Profit Ratio Operating Profit Ratio,Net Profit Ratio and Return on Investment. 

Unit 4: Cash Flow Statement 

•Meaning, preparation of cash flow and objectives of cash flow 

Unit 5: Computerized Accounting 

•Overview of Computerized Accounting System. 

•Introduction: Application in Accounting. Features of Computerised Accounting System. Structure of CAS. Software Packages: Generic; Specific; Tailored. Accounting Application of Electronic Spreadsheet. 

•Concept of the electronic spreadsheet. 

•Features offered by electronic spreadsheet. 

•Application in developing accounting fact – bank reconciliation statement; asset accounting; loan reimbursement of loan agenda, ratio analysis Data representation – graphs, charts, and diagrams. 

•Using a Computerized Accounting System. 

•Steps in the establishment of CAS, codification, Hierarchy of account generals, and creation of reports. 

•Data: Entry, confirmation, and verification. Modifying entries, practice of balance sheet, profit and loss account with closing entries and opening entries. Demand and security characteristics of the system. 

•Database Management System (DBMS) 

•Concept and Characteristics of DBMS. DBMS in Business Application.
